Hi there! After college I dove into working full-time as a DSP caregiver, and then worked for several years in mental health as a case manager.

I loved this work, being with the community and the human experience. 

In 2020 after working remotely, I like many others felt the pull to try to make it work to stay home long term, and maybe try to build a career out of something I loved.

I sold thousands of items since leaving my full time career in February 2021 to start Flood City Stitch.

In those two years: 

-Won a grant from The Community Foundation 

-Opened a store front store for my finished items and teaching

-Taught over 100 individuals how to crochet!

-Hosted dozens of various craft classes

(crochet, knitting, cross stitch, hand knit chunky blankets) 

-Sold items across 9 different countries

-Had over 1,000 finished item sales

-Replaced my full time salary as a mental health worker 

I think that everyone's small business journey is going to look different.
